England flanker Tom Wood has insisted that their Rugby World Cup warm-up match with France will be "full-on" as players try to impress head coach Stuart Lancaster.
Wood will captain the side at Twickenham on Saturday as England rest skipper Chris Robshaw, and he warned France that it will be a "full-blooded Test match".
He said at a press conference: "It is a massive game in its own right and we will be treating it like a full-blooded Test match.
"There will be World Cup places up for grabs; everything on the line. For some people, it is effectively a final – if you don't play well, you're going home. That is the reality of it, so it will be full on.
"It would certainly diminish our advantage on paper and undermine us slightly saying that we have huge home advantage playing at Twickenham if we lose warm-up games. We're confident we can win. The French are a huge threat but, at home, we're always confident."
Lancaster will name his final squad on August 31.
