England head coach Stuart Lancaster has admitted that centre Luther Burrell is under pressure for his place in the Rugby World Cup squad.
The Northampton Saints player is expected to be named in Lancaster's final squad as third choice behind Jonathan Joseph and Brad Barritt, but the displays of Henry Slade and Sam Burgess against France on Saturday impressed the coach.
Lancaster hinted that Burrell will start in Paris in the second warm-up game, and put immediate pressure on the 27-year-old to perform.
He is quoted as saying by BBC Sport: "It will be interesting to see how he goes because there will be a spotlight on him and there will be pressure on him. You need players who can deal with pressure and deliver on the day — as the two guys did last week."
Burrell started all five of England's Six Nations games earlier this year.
