Stuart Lancaster annoyed with wasteful England

England should have scored three more tries in their Six Nations win over Scotland and must improve if they are to beat France, says coach Stuart Lancaster.

England coach Stuart Lancaster has admitted that he is frustrated with the number of scoring opportunities that his side squandered, despite their win over Scotland in the Six Nations today.

The home side trailed at half time, but eventually ran out 25-13 winners at Twickenham - a result which gives them hope of lifting the title next week.

However, they failed to take advantage of several try-scoring opportunities and Lancaster believes that they should have doubled the number that they scored.

He told reporters: "We are delighted with the win and to give ourselves a chance in the Championship but we missed some opportunities out there. We started well and that's been an issue in recent games but we then dropped away and Scotland played really well.

"We are delighted with the chances we created but the opportunities we've missed is frustrating, without a doubt. You don't get try scoring chances without good attack. We created 12 line breaks but to only convert three is frustrating. We scored three tries and we should have probably scored six in honesty.

"We'll review the game now but we'll need to sharpen up to beat France."

England are tied with Ireland and Wales at the top of the Six Nations table.
