Mike Brown motivated by England's World Cup failure

England full-back Mike Brown reveals that his side's World Cup failure is still in the back of his mind despite the new era starting with consecutive wins.

England full-back Mike Brown has said that he is using his side's failure at last year's World Cup to spur him on.

The Red Rose became both the first host nation and first former winner to crash out in the group stages of the tournament, resulting in Stuart Lancaster's departure as head coach.

Lancaster's successor Eddie Jones has led England to two wins from two so far in this year's Six Nations, but Brown revealed that the World Cup disappointment is never far from his thoughts.

"I will always have it there at the back of my mind to motivate me even more," he told BBC Radio 5 live.

"Every single day, every time I am training, every time I'm playing, every time I'm lucky enough to pull on a white jersey.

"We definitely know we have to keep stepping it up. Training has been good, confidence is building, so we are in a good place."

England will take on defending champions Ireland at Twickenham on Saturday.
