Chris Robshaw hopes that England can be ranked number one in the world before World Cup 2015.
Robshaw was yesterday confirmed as England's skipper for the rest of the Six Nations after leading the side to away victories over Scotland and Italy.
The 25-year-old Harlequins flanker is intent on keeping the role long-term and is setting his sights high.
He said: "I am hugely honoured to keep captaining my side.
"Stuart [Lancaster] said things have been going in the right direction. He offered me the chance to continue captaining the side and it is one of those things you don't turn down.
"As an aim, we want to get English rugby back to the top of the world. We know that won't happen overnight and the long term aim is 2015. The sooner that can happen the better."
Robshaw revealed that Will Carling, who is England's youngest and most successful Grand Slam-winning captain, has been offering him frequent advice.
