England forwards coach Graham Rowntree has revealed the coaching staff's relief at the final whistle during their win over Italy on Sunday.
The Red Rose maintained their unbeaten run in the Six Nations after Toby Flood kicked over all their points to secure a stuttering 18-11 win over the Azzurri.
However, England came under immense pressure from the Italians in the second half and Rowntree admits that he was delighted once the game was over.
"Massive is an understatement," Rowntree told Sky Sports News.
"We've come through a massive scare there and credit must go to the lads for coming through that.
"The word 'lottery' is used often when it comes to scrums and it swung both ways today."
England travel to Cardiff to face Wales in the title showdown next weekend.
