Gloucester winger Charlie Sharples has been called up to the England squad in place of the injured David Strettle.
Saracens centre Strettle has been ruled out of tomorrow's Six Nations match with France because of a chest injury.
As a result, 22-year-old Sharples will start the encounter at the Stade de France on the left wing.
"Charlie's trained with us throughout the tournament so he has spent a lot of time with the other guys," said interim coach Stuart Lancaster.
"He almost made the World Cup squad and this is a great opportunity for him.
"It's unfortunate for David but he has been fitness tested by the medics this morning and is not 100% so it is a straight swap and Charlie is ready to go."
Sharples has made one previous appearances at international level.
