Gloucester Rugby director of rugby Nigel Davies believes that his side deserved to win against Northampton Saints on Saturday.
The hosts edged past their opponents 26-24 at the Kingsholm Stadium in the Aviva Premiership, thanks to Billy Twelvetrees's late penalty
"I do think we deserved to win and I thought we played good rugby for big patches of that game," he told BBC Radio Gloucestershire. "We had a couple of chances in the first half that we didn't take, but we said at half time that just have to keep on believing and doing what we're doing and things would come for us.
"Elliot Stooke is a 20-year-old guy who has just come off the back of playing in the Under-20s World Cup and I thought he was outstanding. The boys are relieved; it's been a tough couple of weeks for us.
"We've had to take a few knocks which is understandable but we kept our focus, belief in what we were doing and we played with confidence. The one thing I spoke about leading into this match was that we've got to believe in ourselves and play with confidence."
Gloucester are currently ninth in the Aviva Premiership table, while Northampton are third.
