Gloucester director of rugby David Humphreys has suggested that he is satisfied with his team's narrow victory over Sale Sharks.
The Cherry and Whites were unable to secure a winning bonus point, but Humphreys has claimed that a win against a team as good as the Sharks is enough.
He told reporters: "The four points was all that mattered tonight, we were disappointed at half time, the first half was characterised by unforced errors.
"In the second half I thought we played some really good rugby but probably more important than that, we defended with real passion and urgency. We are absolutely delighted to come away against a really good Sale team with four points.
"We have got real depth across our back row, we need people putting competition on each other and when they get their chance they take it."
Gloucester's win saw them leapfrog Sale in the Aviva Premiership table.
