England have been dealt a blow ahead of the Six Nations after Danny Care injured his ankle while on Heineken Cup duty with Harlequins this afternoon.
The scrum-half, who was named in Stuart Lancaster's squad for the upcoming tournament earlier this week, limped out of the 16-13 defeat to Clermont Auvergne after twisting his ankle.
Quins' director of rugby Conor O'Shea told Sky Sports News: "Danny twisted his ankle and he's got a protective boot on. We'll review it on Monday and see where he's at.
"It's pretty sore at the moment but hopefully he will be alright. I hope he'll be okay for a few weeks' time but I doubt he'll be all right for next week."
England face France in their first match of the competition on February 1.
