Harlequins have suffered their first Heineken Cup defeat of the season with a 21-10 loss at home to Toulouse.
The French side began the stronger and duly took the lead after five minutes when Luke McAlister kicked a penalty.
Quins drew level soon after when Nick Evans landed a kick of his own.
After more pressure, Toulouse extended their lead when Timoci Matanavou touched down in the corner. McAlister was unable to add the extras.
The Kiwi was successful with a penalty three minutes later when he found the posts with a huge kick to give his side an 11-3 half-time lead.
The hosts were galvanised after the break with the introduction of Ugo Monye, and scored a try on 48 minutes thanks to Mike Brown. Evans made the conversion to reduce the deficit to a point.
However, another penalty from McAlister and Matanavou's second try of the match sealed the win for the visitors.
