Tom James ran in four tries as Cardiff Blues defeated Harlequins in round four of the LV Cup this afternoon.
Converted tries by Chris Yorke and Seb Stegman within the opening 21 minutes put visiting Quins into the lead, only for James and Luke Hamilton to go over in reply to level up the scores. Ben Blair was on hand to make both conversions for the home side.
James scored his second try of the match, which Blair converted, in the 38th minute to give Cardiff the lead heading into the break.
Two further converted tries from James after the restart put the Blues in command, while Macauley Cook went over to put the game out of the reach of Quins.
Visiting Quins made an attempt of a comeback with tries from Stegman, Sam Smith and two by Ross Chisholm, but their efforts proved to be little more than consolation.
