Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll is expected to make his international return against France in Dublin next weekend, alongside flanker Stephen Ferris and centre Gordon D'Arcy.
The 32-year-old was absent for Ireland’s 10-6 defeat to Scotland at Murrayfield last week and their 19-12 defeat to France in Bordeaux on the weekend with a neck/shoulder injury.
Despite declaring himself fit last week, O’Driscoll has been made to wait for his return to the international stage.
"Brian O'Driscoll, Stephen Ferris and Gordon D'Arcy are all continuing to progress well," manager Paul McNaughton said.
"It's expected that they will be upping their involvement in training this week and will be in contention for selection."
O’Driscoll has 122 Irish caps and is his nation’s highest ever try scorer with 44.
