Ireland show eight changes ahead of their World Cup warm-up clash with France.

Ireland coach Declan Kidney has made eight changes to the side that was defeated 10-6 by Scotland at Murrayfield last weekend ahead of their World Cup warm-up clash with France on Saturday.

Brian O’Driscoll, who this week declared himself fit, will miss out on the match in Bordeaux but may make an appearance at the return game in Dublin the following week.

Munster kicker Ronan O’Gara and Leinster’s Eoin Reddan join for a new half-back pairing, while Munster outside-centre Keith Earls is also drafted in to the starting squad.

Donncha O'Callaghan joins the second row alongside captain Leo Cullen, replacing Donnacha Ryan who moves to the blindside flank.

Leinster back row Sean O'Brien comes in at number eight, giving support to a new front row consisting of Cian Healy, Rory Best and Mike Ross.

Ireland squad: Rob Kearney, Andrew Trimble, Keith Earls, Paddy Wallace, Luke Fitzgerald, Ronan O'Gara, Eoin Reddan, Cian Healy, Rory Best, Mike Ross, Donncha O'Callaghan, Leo Cullen (Captain), Donnacha Ryan, Sean O'Brien, Denis Leamy.

Replacements: Jerry Flannery, Tony Buckley, Paul O'Connell, Jamie Heaslip, Conor Murray, Fergus McFadden, Felix Jones.
