Richard Cockerill has said that Leicester Tigers will have a "great opportunity" when they face Clermont Auvergne in the Heineken Cup this weekend.
Last season's beaten finalists have won their last 74 games at home, and host the Aviva Premiership champions in their quarter-final on Saturday.
The Tigers' director of rugby told Sky Sports News: "We're going there with the mindset that it's a great opportunity for us.
"It's probably the toughest place to go for a quarter-final, but it gives us the chance to make some history with their home record.
"They will lose that record at some point, why can't it be on Saturday at 5pm? Like all sides they're vulnerable on their day. For once the expectation isn't on us. We're expected to get beaten so we can go there with the shackles off."
Leicester were knocked out in the quarter-finals by eventual champions Toulon last season.
