Leicester Tigers coach Richard Cockerill has tipped retired prop Julian White as a future scrum coach for the club.
White retired from playing at the end of last season, but his former coach Cockerill believes that he has more to give and thinks that he would be ideal in a coaching role at Leicester.
"The only way you learn about playing [as a prop] is by doing it," Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury. "To lose the knowledge that Whitey has of doing that would be a shame.
"He certainly has good knowledge and, as a scrum coach, that knowledge is something that could be tapped into."
White played twice in England's successful 2003 World Cup campaign in Australia.
