No tries were scored as Leicester Tigers won their third Aviva Premiership game in a row by narrowly edging out London Irish at the Madejski Stadium.
The visitors were nine points to the good a quarter of the way through the match thanks to two penalties and a drop goal from Freddie Burns, but they scored on just one other occasion in the remaining hour.
Shane Geraghty sent over a penalty to get Irish on the scoreboard with his only attempt in the first half, as Burns missed three chances to put Leicester further clear.
Burns was then taken off at half time and his replacement David Mele scored Leicester's only points of a low-scoring second half which ended with the Tigers 12-6 victors.
