Australia back Kurtley Beale has admitted that he is delighted to have made his debut for Wasps after a seven-month injury layoff.
The Aviva Premiership side moved to the top of their European Rugby Champions Cup pool after beating last year's Pro 12 winners Connacht 32-17 at the Ricoh Arena.
However, Beale revealed that he is just happy to be back on the pitch in a competitive fixture again.
He told EPC Rugby: "That game had a bit of everything! It's great to be out there with the lads, it's been a long time coming after seven months out with injury.
"It was a big attitude test for us, we know Connacht like to throw the ball around with width, we had to stick to our shape and we did that so full credit to the boys.
"All the talent is here, we need to raise the standard week in, week out. We have to stick to it and not take our foot off the pedal."
Beale joined Wasps from the New South Wales Waratahs last year.
