Northampton Saints fly-half Ryan Lamb looks ahead to a "tough" match against Ulster on Friday.

Northampton Saints fly-half Ryan Lamb has admitted that it will be a "tough ask" to end Ulster's unbeaten start to the season when the two sides meet on Friday.

Ulster travel to Franklin's Gardens on Friday having won all 12 games this season, but Lamb is confident that Northampton can record a good result.

"It is going to be a tough ask. They are a very good side, probably one of the best in Europe. They reached the final last year and they've had an unbeaten start this time around," the 26-year-old told Sky Sports News.

"They've a strong squad with strength in depth in every position but we've a strong squad of our own, especially as a few of the England boys are back.

"It will be a good test to see where we are as a club. We will look at their strengths - and to be honest they have a few - but in a game like this it is about putting in your own performance and making sure that you do everything right.

"We've some key players back from injury and the internationals and that will lift us. It will be a tough challenge but it will be a fantastic occasion at Franklin's Gardens."

Lamb joined Northampton from London Irish in 2009.
