Northampton Saints survived a second-half fightback from London Irish to secure a 19-12 win in the Aviva Premiership this afternoon.
Luther Burrell scored the only try of the first half after he avoided a tackle from Shane Geraghty before sliding over in the corner.
However, Geraghty kicked a series of penalties early in the second half to cut Northampton's lead to four points with just over 15 minutes to play.
Stephen Myler kicked an extra three points for the visitors late on to put the win beyond doubt, though, as try-scoring chances remained limited.
The result moves Northampton to the top of the table, while London Irish sit fifth.
