Owen Farrell kicked 32 points for Saracens as they secured a narrow win over Racing Metro in the Heineken Cup this afternoon.
The hosts were stronger in attack in the first half, scoring three tries in the opening 20 minutes, but mistakes while defending kept Saracens in the game.
Owen Farrell kicked six penalties in the first half, to leave the visitors just seven points down at the break, with both sides seeing a player sent to the sin bin.
Saracens tied the scores early in the second half thanks to a Chris Wyles try and Farrell conversion.
Chris Ashton became the second Saracens player to be shown a yellow card, but Saracens were still able to force an error by Racing while down to 14 men, to allow Farrell to put them ahead.
Two late penalties allowed Saracens to open up a nine-point lead, and maintain the lead in pool one.
