Saracens loose forward Kelly Brown has praised the "superb" resolve shown by his side in yesterday's slender victory against Clermont Auvergne.
The Scotland international played a big part in Sarries' 30-23 triumph against the French league leaders, thanks to a strong finish to the European Rugby Champions Cup contest at Allianz Park.
"It was a very, very tough game, and we were expecting that," Brown told the club's official website. "What I thought was really good was the way we bounced back after set-backs, when they scored a penalty or try. I thought that was incredible.
"We had a good plan, but I thought the spirit and the 'team-ship' we had was superb, and that's what pulled us through. It was a very tense moment in that last scrum. At times we get a bit a grief for going away on these mid-season trips but I think it was times like that is why we do it.
"We knew that were under a lot of pressure. They were sniffing a penalty or a penalty try and we fronted up, so I'm incredibly proud of the boys."
Saracens return to action on Friday night when they travel to face Munster.
