Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall has claimed that he is "over the moon" following Brad Barritt's decision to sign a new deal with the club.
The 28-year-old England international centre penned a "long-term" extension at Allianz Park on Wednesday.
Barritt has made over 140 appearances for Sarries since joining from Super Rugby side The Sharks in 2008.
"Without question, he's the most competitive person that I've come across," McCall told the club's official website. "In the seven years that he's been here Brad has grown as a player and as a person.
"He's a warrior, leads by example and is held in the upmost respect by everyone at Saracens. He is a world class player, and is a key figure for both club and country. We're over the moon that Brad sees his long-term future at Allianz Park."
Saracens are back in Aviva Premiership action on Saturday when they face a crunch trip to leaders Northampton Saints.
