Scotland head coach Andy Robinson was disappointed with his side's defending after their 32-14 defeat to Ireland in Dublin.
The Scots are still looking for their first win at this year's tournament following the loss at the Aviva Stadium.
"Defensively we were naive in the first 40 minutes - you can't afford to give Ireland three scores as we did," Robinson told BBC Sport. "They were too easy, you've got to be able to hold your line in international rugby and to concede like that was really disappointing.
"We got ourselves back into the game at 22-14 but couldn't get any rhythm going in the second half. Watching the first 15 minutes I was really pleased but overall the performance was hugely disappointing."
Scotland travel to Italy next weekend, when the hosts will also be in search of their first triumph in this year's competition.
