Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg has said that his side did themselves justice at the Rugby World Cup.
Vern Cotter's men saw their campaign ended in heartbreaking fashion this afternoon when Bernard Foley's last-minute penalty snatched a 35-34 victory for Australia in their quarter-final at Twickenham.
However, having seen his side pick up the wooden spoon in the Six Nations earlier this year, Hogg believes that they have shown a glimpse of their potential at the World Cup and promised that there is more to come in the future.
When asked whether they had done themselves justice, Hogg told Sports Mole: "Yeah absolutely, but we're more than capable of going further on and unfortunately that's not the case."
Hogg also backed his side for a maiden Six Nations triumph next year having seen them come closer than any other Northern Hemisphere team to reaching the semi-finals.
