Adam Ashe: 'More pressure on Scotland than Ireland at Murrayfield'

Flanker Adam Ashe believes that there is more pressure on Scotland than Ireland in tomorrow's Six Nations finale.

Forward Adam Ashe has said that there is more pressure on Scotland than title-chasing Ireland in this weekend's Six Nations match at Murrayfield.

Scotland go into the final weekend of this year's tournament looking to avoid a clean sweep of defeats, while Ireland could win back-to-back titles depending on results elsewhere.

When asked who there was more pressure on, Ashe told reporters: "Us. We need to win this game. They've obviously got a lot of pressure on them to win this championship, but we need to win this game to get ourselves back on track.

"We've been losing games, but we feel that we've been playing well and a lot of good stuff has been coming out of it. It'd be nice to get a result this weekend and put a good performance in."

Glasgow Warriors back-rower Ashe, who makes his first start of the tournament after recovering from a neck injury, believes that tomorrow's game is a chance to kickstart their preparation for the Rugby World Cup later this year.

"[Ireland] are obviously focusing on a big win for them and looking forward to take the title, but we're just focusing on ourselves," he added.

"This is a massive game for us, we've not had a win yet in the championship so this is a game for us to get back on track and look forward to the Rugby World Cup by finishing this campaign on a positive note."

Ashe will collect his fifth cap for Scotland in tomorrow's game in Edinburgh.
