South Africa secure a 36-27 victory over England in the second Test of the series between the two sides.

South Africa have beaten England 36-27 at Ellis Park in the second Test of the series between the two sides.

South Africa began the game as the better of the two sides and raced into an early lead through a try from Willem Alberts on two minutes.

Bismarck du Plessis doubled the lead after eight minutes with another try, before Morne Steyn was on target with the conversion.

England finally got some points on the scoreboard through a Toby Flood penalty on 10 minutes.

Francois Hougaard made sure his side's dominance continued with another try after 19 minutes, with Steyn converting again a minute later.

A try and conversion from Flood on 24 minutes gave England some hope after a lacklustre first 20 minutes.

However, a minute later, Steyn delivered a sucker punch with a drop goal to make it 25-10.

The half time whistle went on a dominant first half for South Africa.

A penalty from Steyn increased South Africa's lead after the break. However, England came out for the second half looking a far better side and closed the gap on 52 minutes when Youngs scored a try.

On 62 minutes, Youngs grabbed his second try of the game, with a conversion from Flood afterwards as England came right back into the game.

A Steyn penalty increased South Africa's lead as England continued to mount their comeback.

Flood scored a penalty on 65 minutes to bring the scores to 31-27.

South Africa extended their lead on 73 minutes with a try from JP Pietersen.

Despite the strong second-half performance from England, the Springboks saw out the game to claim a second win of the series.
