Sam Warburton: 'No psychological barrier to overcome against Australia'

Sam Warburton insists that there is no "psychological barrier" for Wales to overcome if they are to beat Australia.

Wales captain Sam Warburton has insisted that Wales do not need to overcome any "psychological barrier" to beat Australia when the two sides meet on Saturday.

Despite losing their last nine games against the Wallabies, Warburton believes that past defeats have not played on the minds of the players, and he is hopeful of making a statement by recording a victory at the Millennium Stadium.

"It's not a psychological barrier," the 26-year-old told reporters. "The first time I came into the squad was on the back of beating them in 2008, so you always have the belief when playing these teams.

"Australia have obviously been that smidge better than we have been over those nine fixtures.

"It is a massive opportunity for the squad, and it is coming to the time, which we have said year after year, with the World Cup on the horizon and the senior players in the group, that we really do have to get a win over one of these teams if we are to be considered one of the best in the world."

Wales will also play Fiji, New Zealand and South Africa this month.
