Wales’s summer rugby attendance record was broken over the weekend, it has been confirmed.
More than 80,000 tickets were sold for the defeat to England at Twickenham - and now sales have surged for the return friendly at Cardiff this Saturday.
Over 66,000 tickets have been sold for the clash, the WRU said, beating the previous summer rugby record of 62,500 for a World Cup warm-up against France in 1999.
“Fans have shown unprecedented support for Wales' summer game against England and this is a great tribute to Welsh rugby ahead of the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand," commented WRU head of sales and marketing Craig Maxwell.
