Mark Allen has produced a remarkable comeback to beat Ding Junhui by a 10-7 scoreline to win the UK Championship.
While the Northern Irishman has won televised events in the past, his biggest have been at The Masters and Champion of Champions, both non-ranked events.
However, the 36-year-old, a two-time runner up at this event, has now bettered those previous efforts with a fightback in York that will live long in the memory.
Ding has built up momentum as the tournament has progressed, but the world number 38 would not have necessarily expected to turn a 2-1 lead into a 6-1 advantage.
However, he would have equally not have foreseen the scale of Allen's fightback, his opponent reeling off seven frames in succession to lead by an 8-6 scoreline.
Ding magnificently halted that run of frames with a 105 break, but Allen would soon put himself to within a frame of victory.
For the majority of the 17th frame, it appeared that Ding would get back to within one, turning the tables on Allen as he bid to get over the line.
Nevertheless, in a frame which took almost an hour, Allen battled back yet again, defying being slightly out of position on the pink to convert the title-winning shot. body check tags ::
