Stephen Maguire has advanced through to the quarter-finals of the World Championships by defeating Joe Perry 13-7 in Sheffield.
The Scot headed into today's action with an 11-5 lead that he had established yesterday afternoon.
That advantage proved to be too big for Perry to catch as Maguire added two further frames to seal his progression into the final eight of the competition at the Crucible.
"I think I finished the match yesterday really by winning the second session 7-1," said Maguire. "Even if it had gone 12-8, I'd have had to have fallen over to lose five frames on the spin."
Maguire will now face either Stephen Hendry or John Higgins for a place in the semi-final.
