Rebecca Adlington has confirmed that she will no longer be competing for gold medals on four fronts at the London Olympics.
The 23-year-old was planning to represent Great Britain in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle events, as well as taking a place in the 4x200m freestyle relay squad.
Adlington has now decided to drop the 200m event to concentrate on the other three.
"I won't be going for the 200," she told Sky Sports News. "My goal was to just to go for the 400m and 800m. I will be doing the 200m at the second trials in June but that is just maybe for a spot on the relay team.
"To be honest I am unsure whether I will make a relay spot, it has not been a focus of mine for the whole year at all, so I am merely focused on the 400 and 800m and hopefully do well in those races."
Adlington won 400m and 800m freestyle gold in Beijing four years ago.
