Great Britain's Paralympic gold medallist Ellie Simmonds has revealed that she was "really worried" about the threat of Ukraine's Oksana Khrul ahead of today's SM6 200m individual medley heat.
The Brit, who won a gold medal in the S6 400m freestyle final, broke the Paralympic and world record in the pool at the Aquatics Centre this morning.
"I am so happy with that," said Simmonds. "I was really worried going into this seeing the Ukranian girl. I could see her in front of me on the breaststroke. So I just went for it. It felt good and easy really."
Meanwhile, Simmonds' compatriot Jonathan Fox will contest for another gold medal in the men's S7 100m freestyle after coming second in his heat.
