Andy Murray beats Ricardas Berankis 6-3 6-4 7-5 to reach the fourth round of the Australian Open for the sixth time in his career.

Andy Murray has reached the fourth round of the Australian Open for the sixth time in his career by beating world number 110 Ricardas Berankis 6-3 6-4 7-5.

The British number one is guaranteed to face French opposition in the last 16, as he will take on either Gilles Simon or Gael Monfils.

Murray claimed the opening three games of the match, breaking to love in the process.

He then broke again to take a 5-1 lead, however he was struggling more than the scoreline would suggest.

He afforded Berankis eight break points before the Lithuanian finally converted.

Murray eventually got the first set on the board, but he fell behind in the second as Berankis broke to 40 for a 4-2 lead.

The Scot then improved dramatically, winning four consecutive games to take the set with some inspired baseline hitting.

Murray had the opportunity to serve for the match at 5-4, but he was broken to 30.

The 25-year-old was visibly frustrated, but he responded by winning eight of the next 10 points to seal victory after 132 minutes.
