Rafael Nadal has breezed into the second round of the French Open thanks to a 6-0 6-3 6-0 victory over American Robby Ginepri.
The Spaniard, who has lost just one match in nine years at Roland Garros, won his eighth title last year after overcoming fellow countryman David Ferrer.
The world number one took just 30 minutes to secure the first set, with three breaks of serve and three holds allowing Nadal to move into a one-set lead.
Ginepri provided more of a contest in the second set, but Nadal secured two late breaks, the second of which handed the defending champion a two-set lead.
It was more straightforward in the third and what proved to be final set, however, as another 6-0 score allowed the Spaniard to advance into round two.
