Victoria Azarenka admitted that she had to stay focused against Maria Sharapova after claiming the Indian Wells Women's title.
The world number one proved too strong for the Russian as she won the match in straight sets.
"I was just trying to do my best because I know Maria is a fighter," she said. "I always tried to stay focused and apply as much pressure as I can."
The 22-year-old also revealed that it is hard to believe that she remains undefeated in 2012.
"I never dreamed about that," she added. "It's amazing and I'm just so glad that I have been able to be consistent and disciplined and professional every day."
Azarenka claimed her first Grand Slam at the start of the year when she beat Sharapova in the Australian Open final.
