Flavio Pennetta has eased to a surprise victory in the Indian Wells Masters final this evening, thrashing Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2 6-1.
Pennetta immediately put Radwanska under pressure in the very first game of the match, earning two break points before the number two seed was able to battle back and win.
However, the Italian did get her break in the fifth game to take a 3-2 lead, while she took complete control of proceedings in Radwanska's next service game, breaking again before serving out a 6-2 win.
Radwanska did manage to hold serve in the first game of the second set, but from that point on it was all about Pennetta as she stormed ahead.
The 20th seed won the next six games in a row to ease to the title, clinching the victory against serve at the second time of asking to win the second set 6-1.
