Petra Kvitova has maintained her recent winning run by overcoming Jelena Jankovic in straight sets to advance through to the final eight of the Italian Open.
The world number four, who was triumphant at the Madrid Open earlier this month, came out on top 6-3 6-2 in Rome to make it eight matches without tasting defeat.
A loss of serve in the opening game of the contest saw Kvitova get things off to a bad start, but she soon recovered and took the opening set at the fourth time of asking, having spurned three previous points to do so.
Jankovic struggled in the second set and could not keep up with her Czech opponent, falling 5-0 down before Kvitova eased over the line to advance through.
