British number one Johanna Konta has split from her coach Esteban Carril, despite an impressive season on the court.
The 25-year-old rose from outside the top 100 in the world to the top 10 in just over one year under the guidance of Carril.
After reaching the quarter-finals of the 2015 US Open, Konta kicked off this year's campaign by making it into the semi-finals of the Australian Open before ending the year ranked 10th in the world.
Despite Konta's rise over the last 15 months, her agent has confirmed to PA that the tennis pro's partnership with Carril has come to an end.
The coach, who is a director of an academy in Gijon, also helped Konta tackle her performance anxiety by introducing her to mental coach Juan Coto.
