Kyle Edmund has been handed a place in the quarter-finals at Queen's after the withdrawal of opponent Paul-Henri Mathieu.
On Wednesday, the British number three recorded the biggest win of his career by beating former world number six Gilles Simon and had been preparing for a clash with fellow Frenchman Mathieu, who had defeated Dan Evans.
However, the 34-year-old has been forced to withdraw from the match with a wrist injury, allowing the 21-year-old to move through to the last eight of the London event.
It sets up the certainty of an all-British showdown on Friday with Edmund facing the winner of the showdown between Andy Murray and Aljaz Bedene.
