Novak Djokovic has beaten fellow Serbian Victor Troicki 6-3 6-4 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.
The world number one was in control from start to finish, breaking his Davis Cup teammate as early as the second game.
Troicki nearly responded immediately but Djokovic displayed the resiliency that he is famed for by surviving two break points.
There was a brief stoppage in play when the net collapsed but when the action resumed Djokovic picked up where he left off to take the first set 6-3.
He then broke Troicki again early in the second, but this time the 26-year-old could reply with a break of his own to level the set at 2-2.
However Troicki's fightback was to be short lived as Djokovic gained a decisive break in game seven before going on to secure a straight-sets win.
The five-time Grand Slam champion will face Richard Gasquet in the last eight after the Frenchman beat Albert Ramos earlier today.
