David Ferrer coasted into the third round of the Miami Masters with a 6-1 6-1 win over Federico Delbonis tonight.
The seventh seed needed less than an hour to dispose of the world number 77 and dropped just two games en route to the next phase.
The Spaniard cruised into a 3-0 lead in the first set, but the Argentine offered some resistance by pegging him back with a game of his own.
It was one-way traffic from that point on, however, as Ferrer comfortably took the next three games to earn a first-set lead.
Two breaks of serve in the first four games had Delbonis staring down the barrel with a 4-1 second-set deficit, and Ferrer made the most of his commanding advantage to progress.
