Ekaterina Makarova has recorded a 6-0 6-4 victory over Elina Svitolina to reach the last 16 of the Miami Open.
The eighth seed suffered a surprise exit at the last-32 stage in Indian Wells last week, but she never looked like failing in the third round in Miami as she produced a dominant display.
The first set saw the Russian drop just 10 points in a bagel set, while she broke at the first time of asking on all three break points that she created.
Svitolina finally got on the board at the start of the second but after they shared the first four games, Makarova struck to open up a 4-2 lead to move closer to the fourth round.
Svitolina fought admirably to force Makarova to try to serve out the match, but the 26-year-old held to 30 to secure her progress in the draw.
