Roger Federer has defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the final of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
The 33-year-old, who had already won six titles in Dubai, needed 84 minutes to run out a 6-3 7-5 winner against the world number one.
The 37th meeting between the pair started evenly as the opening games were shared, but it was Federer who sealed the first break of serve and that ultimately proved enough to see him take the first set.
Federer had to save four break points during the second, but, in the 11th game, he struck to give himself the opportunity to serve for the match.
Djokovic pushed hard for the break back, reaching 0-30 and creating a break point, but Federer stormed back to record victory in his 126th ATP Tour final.
