Seven-time champion Roger Federer reached the quarter-finals of the Gerry Weber Open in Halle this afternoon with a comfortable victory over Ernests Gulbis.
The top seed came through 6-3 7-5 in a match of short rallies that lasted just over an hour.
He needed just one break in each set, offering his Latvian opponent only two break points in the whole match.
Up next for the Swiss in the last eight is home favourite Florian Mayer.
