Serena Williams is through to the quarter-finals of the Madrid Masters after a comfortable win over Maria Kirilenko.
The world number one had never lost to her Russian opponent in six previous meetings, and she made it number seven with a 6-3 6-1 triumph.
The 31-year-old dropped just two points on serve as she powered through the first set, and that trend remained in the second.
The American coasted into a 5-0 lead, and while Kirilenko got a game on the board, Williams completed the rare feat of not dropping a point on serve during the second set to ease into the last eight.
