Mikhail Youzhny was knocked out of the Rotterdam Open this afternoon by Igor Sijsling, who recorded a 6-2 6-2 success.
Current world number 14 Youzhny struggled to hold his serve from the outset and was duly punished by Sijsling, as he broke on two occasions to claim the opening set.
It was a similar set of circumstances during the second set, which 26-year-old Sijsling won in just 29 minutes to book his place in round two.
He will now take on Germany's Michael Berrer for a slot in round three of the tournament.
