Jerzy Janowicz has booked his place in the third round of the Rogers Cup in Canada following a 7-6 3-6 6-4 victory over Frank Dancevic.
The Pole struggled through the first set, making 23 unforced errors, but his opponent failed to press home his advantage and the opener went to a tie-break.
Janowicz won the breaker 7-5, but went on to lose the second set 3-6.
The decider was almost as close as the first set, but it was Janowicz who dug deeper to take it 6-4, setting up a third-round clash with Rafael Nadal.
