Second seed Kvitova needed just 61 minutes to dispatch the American qualifier 6-1 6-0.
The 2011 Wimbledon champion hit seven aces, 28 winners and won 11 of 13 points at the net.
She will play either Caroline Wozniacki or Lucie Safarova in the third round.
