Sports Mole brings you live coverage from day two of the Wimbledon Championships. Today's schedule includes the likes of Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal.

Good morning and welcome to Sport Mole's live text coverage from the second day of the 126th Wimbledon Championships.

Yesterday the 42,000-strong crowd were treated to the likes Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova on the famous courts.

Today it is the turn of home favourite Andy Murray, who continues his quest for that elusive Grand Slam title.

Rafael Nadal, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Juan Martin Del Potro, Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki will also join Murray in getting their SW19 quests underway over the course of the day - all of which should make for an intriguing few hours in the English capital.

Follow ALL the action with us here. Enjoy!

21.09We'll be back for day three at the All England club on Sports Mole tomorrow. Be sure to join us from around 11am, with less rain hopefully!

21.02Before I leave you, here's a round-up of the day's headlines...

20.59And on the women's side:
Cornet 6-0 5-5(15-0) Bratchikova
Vandeweghe 1-6 3-5(40-A) Errani (that's match point Errani!)
Yakimova 3-3(A-40) Minella
Peer 2-6 1-2 Goerges
Wozniacki 2-2 Paszek

20.55These are the current scores from the ongoing matches on the men's side:
Melzer 3-6 7-6 2-6 6-4 5-4(40-40) Wawrinka
Odesnik 3-6 6-3 7-6 3-6 Phau
Ito 6-7 3-6 3-5 Kubot
Baker 6-7 2-4 Roddick
Karlovic 6-4 6-4 1-1 Sela
Ferrer 7-6 6-4 1-1 Brown
Giraldo 4-6 4-6 4-5 Raonic

20.50They'll also resume tomorrow at some point once the officials squeeze them into the schedule.

20.47A total of 12 matches were still going on when the rain started falling, five women's and seven men's.

20.44There will be no further play tonight! An announcement on Centre Court says that the rain, which is still falling, and deteriorating light are the reasons.

20.41Things don't look good as the umpire on Centre has just walked off. Still no announcement.

20.39Wimbledon's official Twitter has just said this: "The referee is in discussions about whether to resume play at #Wimbledon tonight. As soon as we know we'll tweet about it." Tell us something we didn't know already!

20.35Fans are getting tedious on Centre and are doing the old clap slowly, get quicker routine to try and get the officials to give them some more head-swivelling (get it?).

20.33If they are to return out on Centre, then it is evenly poised at 2-2 between Wozniacki - girlfriend of Rory McIlroy remember - and young Austrian Paszek.

20.30An announcement bellows across Centre Court that tells us...absolutely nothing. No decision on whether to abandon the day's play yet.

20.29Djokovic is the third man on Centre, the world number one will lock horns with American Ryan Harrison.

20.28The Swiss maestro faces Italy's Fabio Fognini, with Kim Clijsters second up on the famous court against Czech Andrea Hlavackova.

20.26Tomorrow's order of play at SW19 is out and Federer opens up proceedings on Centre.

20.24Still waiting for the All England officials' decision on whether to abandon play for the day.

20.23Two further games are close to the end, with on the women's side of the draw Errani one game from winning and on the men's Poland's Kubot also within one of triumph.

20.22Another game tensely poised before the rain is between Melzer and Wawrinka. The former has a break in the deciding set at 5-4 and is serving for the match and they've brought them off at deuce!

20.20I mentioned 21st-seed Raonic a moment ago, he's had to stop at 6-4 6-4 5-4 and about to serve for the match on Court 7. If there's no more play it's a funny position to come out to tomorrow eh?

20.19Will they carry on on Centre and put the roof up or is this the end of the day's play? Decision expected soon. Play has been suspended on the outside courts and I expect that'll be that for the day.

20.17GAME, SET AND MATCH! Tall American Sam Querrey is into the second round with a 7-5 6-7 6-3 6-4 win over Canada's Pospisil. He looks set to play Milos Raonic in the next round.

20.16The heavens have opened at SW19!

20.15GAME, SET AND MATCH! 32nd-seed Kuznetsova is out of the women's draw after a straight sets defeat to Wickmayer.

20.13GAME, SET AND MATCH! New Zealand's Erakovic has beaten Radwanska in straight sets and she'll now face 21st-seed Vinci in round two.

20.12On Centre, Wozniacki broke early to take a 2-0 lead but Paszek has clawed her way back into it by breaking back.

20.11Germany's Phau levels his match against South African Odesnik 2-2 in sets on Court 9. Decider in that one.

20.10Big-serving Karlovic has taken the second set 6-4 to take a two-set lead against Sela on Court 5.

20.09Italian Errani, who had a great French Open, is one game away from victory on Court 16.

20.07GAME, SET AND MATCH! Britain's Keothavong becomes the fourth home favourite of the day to progress! She ousts Pous-Tio 6-3 6-3 and looks set to face tenth-seed Errani in the second round.

20.05SET! Seventh-seed Ferrer has just taken the second against Brown to move ahead 2-0 in the match.

20.03Thank you Liam and evening all. Around an hour's play left on day two at the Championships as yesterday's play came to an end a little after 9pm yesterday.

20.00Right, that is as far as I take you. I'll leave you in the hands of my colleague Mr Pascal Lemesre, who will tie up all the loose ends from day two.

19.56Keothavong is now just one game away from booking her place in round two. She leads Pous-Tio 5-1 in the second set.

19.54GAME SET AND MATCH: Cilic, like Del Potro, is through to round two with a four-set win. The Croatian defeated Stebe 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-2.

19.49GAME SET AND MATCH: Italy's Vinci sees off the challenge of Barty 6-2 6-4.

19.48GAME SET AND MATCH: Argentine Del Potro is through at the expense of Hasse. The former US Open champion run out a 6-4 3-6 7-6 7-5 winner. He is also in Murray's half of the draw.

19.45It is looking good for Britain's number one Keothavong, who is a set and 3-0 up on Pous-Tio.

19.44SET! Number ten seed Sara Errani takes the opening set 6-1 against America's Coco Vandeweghe.

19.43SET! Yanina Wickmayer claims the opening set from her match against number 32 seed Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-2.

19.41Turning our attention back to Murray, here is what he told BBC Sport about his victory: "The first two sets were very good, I got off to a great start and then relaxed. It's been a long time waiting around since Queen's, I've been itching to get going.

"I was hitting the ball very clean and used my slice very well. Changing the pace of the ball was very important. I've potentially got Karlovic next, there will be very little rhythm in a match like that and I need to strike the ball well."

19.40SET! Britain's Baker has battled hard with Roddick but he falls short in a tie-break, slipping to a 7-1 defeat.

19.39SET! Melzer and Wawrinka are going the distance and the former wins the fourth set 6-4.

19.38SET! The pint-sized Ferrer claims the opening set against Germany's Brown thanks to 7-5 success in a tie-breaker.

19.37SET! Karlovic breaks Sela decisively to take the first set 6-4. Remember, the winner of this will take on Andy Murray in round two.

19.35A bit from John 'the ball was on the line' McEnroe on BBC Sport: "The plan has worked perfectly. Mighty impressive from Murray. This has been a superb effort."

19.34Murray will now take on either Dudi Sela or Ivo Karlovic in round two. That match is currently in the opening set, with Karlovic leading on serve 5-4.

19.32And like magic, here is out match report from Murray's comfortable win.

19.31GAME SET AND MATCH: An easy evening for Murray if truth be told! He wins through against Davydenko 6-1 6-1 6-4. A really promising start to the Scot's Wimbledon campaign.

19.30THIRD MATCH POINT Murray...

19.30Make that 30-0 up thanks to a casual passing stroke beyond Davydenko.

19.30Back to Murray, who is 15-0 up.

19.29SET! Keothavong runs out a 6-3 winner in the opening set against Pous-Tio.

19.28Game Davydenko as Murray returns the Russian's serve into the middle of the net. Murray will now serve for the match at 5-4 up.

19.28Advantage Davydenko...

19.27...but a fantastic curling shot from Davydenko saves his skin for a second time. Deuce.

19.26SECOND MATCH POINT Murray...

19.26...squandered as he fires a Davydenko serve wide. Deuce.

19.25MATCH POINT Murray...

19.25Make that 30-30.

19.2415-30 Murray, he's just two points away.

19.22Meanwhile, Murray has taken a 5-3 lead in the third. Davydenko will serve to stay in the match.

19.22SET! Cilic back in command against Stebe, having taken the third set 6-3.

19.19That is exactly what Davydenko does. He is making Murray win this set, rather than handing it to him. Murray to serve with a 4-3 advantage.

19.16And there's the game! 4-2 Murray. Davydenko must hold this next service game if there is any chance of him winning this set.

19.16Murray has just fired another ace past Davydenko, who looks clueless at what to do!

19.15Brit Keothavong is up a break in her opening set against Pous-Tio. She now leads 4-2.

19.14SET! Raonic takes the opening set 6-4 at the expense of Giraldo.

19.13And that's a hold! Murray can only find the net in return to Davydenko's serve as the score is cut to 3-2 in the Scot's favour.

19.12Another poor stroke from Murray hands Davydenko advantage...

19.12...and on this occasion Murray strikes the ball wide. We have deuce.

19.11...The first of which Murray hits long. One more remaining...

19.11But then an error hands Murray two break points...

19.10Davydenko responds to make it 15-30.

19.10Murray is 30-0 up on the Davydenko serve. Is another break on the horizon?

19.08Game Murray, who now leads 3-1. He is just three games away from booking his place in round two.

19.05All of which leads him to hold his service game, which reduces the arrears to 2-1 in Murray's favour.

19.04This is better from Davydenko, who leads 40-15 on his own serve. The Russian has finally found his range with a series of powerful forehand shots.

19.02SET! Wawrinka opens up a 2-1 lead in sets on Melzer with a 6-2 success in the third.

19.01And Murray does indeed make it 2-0. This match is only just over one hour old.

18.59Back to Murray, who is already a break up in the third set. He is now serving for a 2-0 that will surely send him on his way to wrapping up the match in straight sets.

18.58SET! Del Potro is back in front against Hasse courtesy of a 7-3 success in a tie-break. The Argentine now leads 2-1 in sets.

18.56GAME SET AND MATCH: German Kohlschreiber knocks out fellow countryman Haas in five sets. What an epic contest from the two veterans!

18.52SET! Murray makes no mistake a second time with another forehand stroke that Davydenko has no answer to. That's two 6-1 sets for Murray!

18.51...with Davydenko saving one. Two to go...

18.50Three set points Murray...

18.50Elsewhere, David Ferrer gets his Wimbledon campaign underway against Dustin Brown.

18.49...taken! The Scot opens up his body to whip a shot across court, leaving Davydenko no chance. 5-1 to Murray and he should wrap up the second set shortly.

18.48Make that 15-40 to Murray as Davydenko hits the net. Two break points...

18.47Meanwhile, Murray is currently 15-30 up on the Davydenko serve. Is another break coming?

18.46Britain's Anne Keothavong is underway against Laura Pous-Tio.

18.44Solid hold from Murray, who is now 4-1 in front. He is closing in on a second-set success.

18.41Finally Davydenko holds his service game! Murray's lead in the second set has been cut to 3-1, but he is now serving.

18.38GAME SET AND MATCH: South Africa's Anderson is out after losing 7-5 7-6 6-7 6-3 to Dimitrov.

18.37GAME SET AND MATCH: Should Murray get through, he will be joined in round two by fellow Brit James Ward, who has beaten Andujar-Alba in five sets! Great character from Ward, who trailed for large parts of the match.

18.36Make that 3-0 Murray, who serves out with an ace - his fourth of the match! Too easy for Muzza at the moment.

18.34...which are taken emphatically! Awesome forehand from Murray puts him 2-0 up in the second set.

18.33Davydenko is being made to work hard by Murray here. The Brit has two break points...

18.30GAME SET AND MATCH: Brit Baltacha is through! She has battled back from one-set down against Knapp to win 4-6 6-4 6-0.

18.28Another British player, Jamie Baker, is about to get underway on court number one against Andy Roddick.

18.27SET! How easy was that for Murray? He breaks Davydenko once again to wrap up the opening set 6-1 in just over 30 minutes. Impressive start to his campaign.

18.26Set point Murray...

18.24SET! Melzer draws level at a set apiece with Wawrinka thanks to a 7-2 success in a tie-breaker.

18.23SET! Britain's Ward is taking Andujar-Alba the distance with a 6-3 success in the fourth.

18.21Back to Murray. The world number four has produced a number of flat forehand strokes here. He now leads 5-1, with Davydenko serving to stay in the set.

18.21GAME SET AND MATCH: An easy victory for Czink, who drops just two games on her way to defeating Larsson 6-0 6-2.

18.19SET! Excellent response from Stebe, who takes the second set against Cilic 6-3. Game on.

18.18A report on Azarenka's success is now live on the site. It can be found here.

18.17GAME SET AND MATCH: Azarenka is through to round two with a 6-1 6-4 win over Falconi.

18.17...However, the Russian is powerless to stop Murray from claiming his second break of the game. The Scot now leads 4-1 and the first set is nearing a conclusion.

18.15...Davydenko saves one with a smash, two to go...

18.15This is great from Murray, who has three break points for a 4-1 lead...

18.13Back to the action and Murray has held to open up a 3-1 lead. Looking good at the moment. But as you know with Murray, things can change VERY quickly!

18.11John McEnroe has raised the point on BBC Sport that Murray faces a difficult run at SW19: "Andy potentially has the toughest draw of the top four players, without a doubt. Davydenko, Karlovic, Anderson, Raonic - just to get to the quarters. But, first things first, he has to win this one."

18.09SET! Phau overcomes Odesnik 6-3 in their opening set.

18.09Which he takes! Murray breaks through first with a patient showing on the Davydenko serve. The Brit now leads 2-1 and is preparing to serve.

18.07And that turns into a REAL chance! Advantage Murray and break point...

18.07Chance for Murray, who has forced deuce on the Davydenko serve.

18.05SET! Well, well, well. Del Potro drops the second set to Hasse, who runs out a 6-3 winner to level up the sets at one apiece.

18.03No problem for Murray, who responds with his own hold. Confident start from both players with ball in hand.

18.02Davydenko holds his opening service game to take a 1-0 lead over Murray. Over to you Muzza.

17.59SET! Baltacha takes her match with Knapp the distance thanks to a 6-4 success in the second set.

17.56Game time! Davydenko to serve.

17.55You can also find out all you need to know about Davydenko with SM's profile of the man courtesy of Jack Prescott.

17.54Here's what he had to say: "Sometimes he walks on court, he looks tired, like he doesn't want to run any more and then he runs like an animal. He has done that all his career. He's, like: 'Ah, I don't want to play any more.' Then he starts returning and running and you see his condition is very good. Maybe it is a special Scottish thing.

"It doesn't matter what he says; he will fight for everything, he will try to win. He may have a pain somewhere but if you ask any player they will all say they have pains here and there. Nobody says they are perfect. It's just not possible."

17.54The veteran has also had a dig at Murray in the build-up to this match by criticising the way that the Scot deals with injuries...

17.52So what of Davydenko? The Russian has won four of his last nine meetings with Murray. This is also the first time that the pair have met on grass.

17.48Now Nadal is done, it's Murray time! What will the Scot put us all through this evening against Davydenko? We'll find out soon enough as both players enter the court.

17.46GAME SET AND MATCH: Easy pickings for Baghdatis, who overcomes Montanes 6-2 6-4 6-4.

17.45Back to Rafa Nadal. Here is our report from his 7-6 6-2 6-3 win.

17.43SET! Haas bounces back against Kohlschreiber to take a 2-1 lead in sets courtesy of a 7-5 success in a tie-breaker.

17.41GAME SET AND MATCH: He's made it! Nadal is through in straight sets against Bellucci, who put up a decent fight. Good round one match.

17.39And we have match point Nadal...

17.3930-30. Surely he won't bottle this, will he?!

17.37Make that 30-15.

17.3730-0 Nadal! He's closing in.

17.36Back on Centre Court Bellucci holds his serve to reduce the arrears to 5-3. Nadal will now serve for the match.

17.35SET! Wawrinka follows suit by recording a 6-3 success over Melzer.

17.35SET! It's raining sets at the moment! Del Potro takes a one-set lead over Hasse thanks to a 6-4 success.

17.34SET! Cilic wins his opening set against Stebe 6-4.

17.32SET! Easy for Azarenka who wraps up a 6-1 success over Falconi in the opening set.

17.31Easy service game from Rafa, who is now just one game away from victory.

17.28...which he takes at the second time of asking. The Spaniard is now 4-2 up and I don't think he will allow Bellucci back in again.

17.26Break point to Nadal...

17.24SET! Baghdatis looks to be on his way to victory against Montanes, having won the second set 6-4.

17.22Back to Centre Court. Nadal holds his serve to lead 3-2. Bellucci serving now just to stay in contact with the world number two.

17.20SET! Halep claims the opening set against Medina Garrigues 6-3.

17.19GAME SET AND MATCH: America's Lepchenko wastes no time in booking her place in round at the expense of Mayr-Achleitner 6-2 6-3.

17.16Bellucci holds! Really good game from the Brazilian, who made Nadal work really hard. The score is now tied at 2-2 in the third.

17.15Del Potro and Wawrinka have also broken in their respective matches.

17.14A quick update on Azarenka, who has started well against Falconi. The Belarussian has broken in the first set to take a 2-0 lead.

17.11...And he has taken. Well Nadal lost it with an unforced error but either way he's reduced the scores in the third set to 2-1 in Nadal's favour, with his serve to come.

17.10Hello, what's this? Break point Bellucci...

17.08Couple of other matches getting underway that may be of interest to you. Juan Martin Del Potro vs. Robin Hasse and Jurgen Melzer vs. Stanislas Wawrinka have both started.

17.06Taken again. The speed in which he gets around the court is awesome! Nadal leads 2-0.

17.05Break point Nadal (again!)...

17.04With all these sets being won all over SW19 I've barely had time to tell you about Nadal's third set with Bellucci. Well luckily, you've not missed much! Nadal held his serve first off, while the score his 30 apiece on Bellucci's serve.

17.02SET! More bad news from a British perspective. Baltacha as lost the opening set 6-4 to Knapp.

17.01SET! It appears normal service has been resumed where James Ward is concerned. The Brit has lost the third set against Andujar-Alba 6-3.

17.00SET! Dodig responds to going one-set down against Rosol to win the second set 6-3.

16.58SET! Dimitrov is now just one set away from victory, having taken the second set against Anderson 7-3 on a tie-breaker.

16.57Meanwhile, Victoria Azarenka has begun her Wimbledon campaign against America's Irina Falconi.

16.55SET! Fantastic from Nadal. He breaks Bellucci for second time to take the set 6-2. He now leads by 2 sets to 0. This one could be over very shortly.

16.54Back to Rafa, who has two set points...

16.54SET! Varvara Lepchenko takes the opening set against Patricia Mayr-Achleitner 6-2.

16.52Number 16 seed Marin Cilic has just got underway against Germany's Cedrik-Marcel Stebe.

16.51Easy hold for Nadal, who is now 5-2 up. Bellucci will now be serving to stay in the second set.

16.50SET! Marcos Baghdatis wins his opening set against Spain's Albert Montanes 6-2.

16.49Taken! That was too easy for Nadal, who now leads 4-2 in the second set. This match is only going one way now.

16.48Meanwhile, break point Nadal...

16.48SET! Kohlschreiber responds in the second set against his fellow German Haas by winning 10-8 in a tie-breaker.

16.47What a lob from Nadal! Shot of the match for me. That puts him 30-15 up on the Bellucci serve.

16.46GAME SET AND MATCH! Bartoli makes light work of Dellacqua, defeating the Australian 6-2 6-4.

16.43Back to Centre Court and both players have held their serves, with the scores level at two games apiece.

16.43Here is our report from Williams's win.

16.42GAME SET AND MATCH: Serena Williams fares better than her sister Venus by advancing through to round one. The former world number one defeated Strycova 6-2 6-4.

16.40And right on time here is our report from Tsonga's win over Hewitt.

16.38GAME SET AND MATCH: Hewitt's love affair with Wimbledon is over for another year - perhaps for good! The former champion has been beaten 6-3 6-4 6-4 by Tsonga.

16.37And he makes no mistake this time with a deep serve that Bellucci is unable to return. Nadal leads 2-1 in this second set.

16.36Advantage Nadal once again as Bellucci finds the net from the back of the court.

16.36...But a fantastic cross-court forehand from Bellucci restores deuce. Really good game this one.

16.35Advantage Nadal courtesy of another massive serve...

16.34...which Nadal saves with a thumping ace - his fourth of the match. Deuce.

16.33Lovely drop shot from Bellucci gives him break point on Nadal...

16.32Heading over to the ladies for a moment and Serena Williams is closing in on victory. She is currently a set and 5-3 up Strycova.

16.31SET! Lacko is now 2-0 up in sets on Ungur. The Slovakian cruised to a 6-1 second-set success.

16.31SET! Croatia's Dodig goes down 6-4 in his opening set against Rosol.

16.30Important hold for Bellucci, who levels up his second set against Nadal at one game apiece. You get the impression it is only a matter of time before Nadal finds the break though.

16.26SET! Oprandi comes out on top 7-3 on a tie-breaker during her opening set against Begu.

16.25Turning attentions back to Nadal vs. Bellucci. It will be interesting to see how Bellucci reacts in the second set. He was in command of the opening set at 4-0 up, only to lose on a tie-breaker. Does he possess the mental capacity to bounce back from that? We shall see.

16.24GAME SET AND MATCH: Japan's Soeda records a relatively straightforward 6-3 6-2 6-1 win over Kunitsyn.

16.22SET! And he only needs one of them as Bellucci is unable to contend with the power in his serve. That was a love-breaker for Nadal, who fought back from 4-0 to win that set.

16.21Meanwhile, six set points for Nadal...

16.21SET! Jamie Ward take a bow! The Brit levels up the scores at one set apiece thanks to a 6-0 triumph against Andujar-Alba.

16.19Double-break for Nadal, who now leads Bellucci 5-0. The Brazilian is growing increasingly frustrated.

16.18Back to Nadal on Centre Court. The world number two is currently 3-0 up in the breaker and looking comfortable.

16.17SET! France's Marion Bartoli wins the opening set against Casey Dellacqua 6-2.

16.16What has happened to Britain's Jamie Ward?! Having lost the opening set 6-4 to Andujar-Alba, he now leads 5-0 in the second. What a fantastic response.

16.15Tie-break it is! Got a feeling Nadal will not lose this one. Bellucci has had his chances and hasn't taken them.

16.15ACE! Awesome from Nadal to leave himself one point away from forcing a tie-break.

16.1430-15 to Nadal as Bellucci is forced to stretch and send his return into the net.

16.13It's currently 15 apiece between Nadal and Bellucci. Can the Brazilian cause an opening set surprise?

16.13SET! Tommy Haas draws first blood in the battle of the Germans against Philipp Kohlschreiber. Veteran Haas won through 6-3.

16.11Back on Centre Court Bellucci recovers from 15-30 on his serve to go 6-5 in front against Nadal. Worst case scenario now for the Brazilian is a tie-breaker.

16.10GAME SET AND MATCH: The wonderfully named Zopp surrenders a two-set lead to lose 6-4 6-4 3-6 4-6 7-9 to Tunisia's Jaziri.

16.09SET! Roger-Vasselin ensures that he is going the distance with Garcia-Lopez thanks to a 7-5 success in the fourth set.

16.07Game Nadal. You've got to admit that his response to going 4-0 down has been tremendous. The stuff of champions.

16.06And now 40-0. This is really good tennis from Nadal.

16.06Make that 30-0.

16.06Nadal begins his must-win service game with a fantastic forehand stroke that leaves Bellucci no chance. Vintage stuff. 15-0.

16.05SET! Britain's Ward loses the opening set 6-4 to Andujar-Alba.

16.04While back on Centre Court Bellucci holds his service game to open up a 5-4. Nadal must do the same with his serve to remain in the opening set.

16.03More British interest for you. Elena Baltacha gets her SW19 campaign underway against Karin Knapp.

16.02Afternoon once again! Well, it seems that Mr Nadal is not having it all his own way at the moment. The Spaniard is level with Bellucci at four games apiece.

15.59Right, that's me done for now! I'll hand you back over to Liam Apicella, who will take you through the remainder of Nadal's clash and the rest of the afternoon's tennis.

15.56It seems as though Nadal's brief scare has passed as he takes the game and closes in on Bellucci's lead of 4-3.

15.55SET! Tsonga has extended his lead, despite an attempted fightback from Hewitt and now leads 6-3 6-4.

15.54SET! Lucic has fought back to draw level on sets following a 6-3 win in the second over Panova.

15.53SET! Dimitrov wins the first set 7-5 over Anderson in a tight encounter on Court 3.

15.52A powerful ace secures the game for Nadal, who is currently at a 4-2 disadvantage in the second.

15.51Back on centre court and Nadal has begun to come into his own with a lofting backhand but Bellucci remains a threat in these early stages.

15.50SET! Williams nabs the opening set on Court 2 with a 6-2 advantage over Zahlavova.

15.48GAME SET MATCH Mchale defeats Konta with a 6-7 6-2 10-8 win.

15.36...and he gets it! The Spaniard will be hoping to get a hold on this game now as he prepares to serve at 4-1 in the first to Bellucci.

15.45Now, here's the break point that Nadal needs...

15.45Meanwhile, Williams is one game away from going a set up against Zahlavova with the American needing a break of serve.

15.43This definitely wasn't in the script for Nadal, who will need to get a break in order to put pressure on his opponent, who is playing some superb tennis.

15.42And he's broken him again! The Brazilian has taken a shock 4-0 lead in the first set and the crowd can't believe it.

15.42Bellucci is playing some strong tennis on centre court and has just grabbed an advantage over Nadal on the Spaniard's serve.

15.40GAME SET MATCH Nieminen secures a 7-6[4] 3-6 7-6[5] 6-4 win over Lopez.

15.39There's a tense match going on on Court 3, where Anderson and Dimitrov are locked on 5-5 in the opening set.

15.38A brilliant forehand up the line from Bellucci as Nadal moves up to the net. You don't see many of them get past the Spaniard!

15.37Nadal seems to be taking his time getting used to the grass at Wimbledon but make no mistake, this contest is far from over!

15.36But Nadal can't handle Bellucci's serves at the moment and the Brazilian has gone 3-0 up in the opening set. Bellucci couldn't have asked for a better start!

15.35A lovely sweeping forehand shot from Nadal brushes right past Bellucci at the net as the Spaniard tries to take his first break of the match.

15.34GAME SET MATCH Pliskova has seen through a comfortable 6-2 6-2 victory over Hercog.

15.33And Bellucci gets the break! The Brazilian is 2-0 up in the first set, which has prompted chants of 'Come on Rafa' from the crowd.

15.31And as soon as I say that, he gets an ace! Nadal is just finding his feet in these opening exchanges.

15.30Back to Rafa, and the Spaniard has is two points away from being broken. Let's see if the Roland Garros champion will recover.

15.29Let's just quickly switch to Court 5, where Lacko and Ungar have just got underway with the pair on one game apiece.

15.27A return into the net from Nadal gives Bellucci the advantage and the Brazilian manages to claim the first game with an ace.

15.26Bellucci is getting a taste of Nadal's power in these early stages and is about to be broken on his first service game.

15.25SET! Soeda leads by 6-3 over Kunitsyn out on Court 16.

15.24And we're underway on centre court with Bellucci serving in the first game!

15.23GAME SET MATCH Almagro is through to the second round after defeating Rochus [4]6-7 3-6 7-6[4] 6-2 6-4 Rochus

15.22Meanwhile, switching back to Tsonga and Hewitt - the second set is currently going by the way of serve in the early stages with Tsonga leading by a set.

15.20Keeping with the ladies, Serena Williams has just begun her Wimbledon campaign against Zahlavova out on Court 2. The American will be hoping to do better than her sister Venus, who was knocked out on the opening day yesterday.

15.18The duo are just warming up here, while out on Court 12, Dellacqua and Bartoli have just got underway.

15.16I wonder if Nadal will be feeling any nerves on this infamous court. The 26-year-old has had a wonderful season on clay but he will be eager to get past Bellucci following Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer's comfortable wins yesterday.

15.14There's still little tennis being played around on the outer courts but I'll let keep you up to date with what's happening.

15.12And here he comes alongside Bellucci onto centre court to a rousing applause from the crowd!

15.11I am joking of course! It seems as though the Spaniard didn't expect to be out on court as yet due to the earlier rain shower.

15.10Still waiting for Rafa. The French Open winner seems to be taking his time. What a diva...

15.09SET! And just like that, Tsonga has claimed the first set 6-3.

15.08If Tsonga clinches the first set I'm sure it won't destroy the spirits of Hewitt's faithful following, who turn up to support the Australian every year at SW19!

15.08Meanwhile, switching to Court 1. Tsonga's match with Hewitt is back underway, with the Frenchman leading 5-3.

15.06Rafael Nadal should emerge on centre court in due course for his first-round clash with Thomaz Bellucci. Fingers crossed the rain doesn't hamper this one!

15.03Hello all! Right, the book is down and I'm ready to take you through all the tennis coverage over the next hour thankfully now the showers seem to have stopped.

14.59And that is as far as I take you for now. I'll leave you in the capable hands of Danielle Joynson for an hour, providing she's put down her book! Enjoy!

14.58GAME SET AND MATCH: Kvitova serves three aces to seal her passage into round two at Wimbledon at the expense of Amanmuradova 6-4 6-4.

14.56It's 5-4 to Kvitova, who is now serving for the match.

14.55The players are beginning to filter back on numerous courts. Kvitova is about to get back underway on Centre. She needs just one more game to reach round two.

14.49However, there are still a lot of covers on across Wimbledon. Mixed signals indeed.

14.45The covers are coming off on Centre Court. Hopefully we will have some play very soon.

14.43The USA Tennis Federation announces on Twitter: "John Isner, Andy Roddick, Donald Young and Ryan Harrison in singles and Bob Bryan/Mike Bryan and John Isner/Andy Roddick in doubles for Olympics.

"Serena Williams, Christina McHale, Venus Williams and Varvara Lepchenko in singles and Liezel Huber/Lisa Raymond and Williams/Williams in doubles.

"Mardy Fish will not to play."

14.42Back to Mardy Fish, whose victory today will have been tainted by the news that he has not made the America Olympic team.

14.39GAME SET AND MATCH: One result that escaped my notice as the rain began to fall was Pavlyuchenkova's 6-1 6-2 win over Arvidsson.

14.38Mardy Fish is also through to the next round. The American recorded a 7-6 7-5 7-6 win over Ruben Ramirez-Hidalgo.

14.35Japan's Kei Nishikori breezed into round two at the expense of Mikhail Kukushkin. The 22-year-old was always in control on his way to winning 7-5 6-3 6-4.

14.33The home crowd looked to have something to cheer about when Laura Robson won the opening set against Francesca Schiavone. However, the Italian broke British hearts by winning the remaining two sets to secure her place in round two.

14.31Nicolas Mahut returned today along with Paulo Lorenzi to conclude their match. Frenchman Mahut eventually ran out a five-set winner.

14.29While we wait for the action to restart, let's remind you of what has happened so far today...

14.28Kvitova's match has also been interrupted on Centre Court. Get that roof going!

14.26It appears that I was! Tsonga vs. Hewitt has been suspended and the covers are now coming on. Me and my big mouth!

14.26One major plus at the moment is the fact that the covers have not been brought on yet. Had the officials been expecting heavy showers then surely the covers would be on. Or am I clutching at straws?!

14.24At the moment very little play is happening on the outer courts as the umpires wait to make a decision on the rain. Looks very grey in the skies above.

14.23Kvitova is almost over the line on Centre Court against Amanmuradova. The defending champion leads by one set and 5-3 in the second.

14.22SET! Garcia-Lopez wins a breaker against Roger-Vasselin 7-4 to open up a 2-1 advantage in sets.

14.21RAIN ALERT! The first showers of the tournament have arrived. Oh dear!

14.20GAME SET AND MATCH: Hate to say I told you so, but I did! Goffin overcomes the challenge of Tomic 3-6 6-3 6-4 6-4. The German will provide a stern challenge to whoever he faces in the next round.

14.19A bit more British interest for you. No not Murray! James Ward has just got underway against Spain's Pablo Andujar.

14.17GAME SET AND MATCH: Fish becomes the second American after Baker to make it through to round two this afternoon. The 30-year-old defeated Hidalgo 7-6 7-5 7-6.

14.14Back to Court One. Tsonga saves two break points against a positive looking Hewitt to take a 2-1 lead on serve.

14.12A few games just getting underway: Kevin Anderson vs. Grigor Dimitrov, Alex Kuznetsov vs. Florent Serra and Mirjana Lucic vs. Alexandra Panova.

14.09Advantage Almagro in the restarted game. He has broken Rochus to take a 4-2 lead in the fifth and final set.

14.08GAME SET AND MATCH: Ebden's resistance didn't last long against Paire, who eventually won the match 6-1 6-3 6-7 6-3.

14.07In my opinion Tsonga, like Murray, who have already won a Grand Slam title in another era. The Frenchman is one of the most exciting players to watch on the circuit.

14.06While Tsonga gets underway, let's bring you a snippet of what he told BBC Sport about his hopes for Wimbledon: "I have very good memories of last year, I hope I will come back better this year. I feel good. I will have to play unbelievable [to challenge the top four] but I will try to pass them. My goals are to win something like this. If I'm 50 in the world tomorrow it is not important, but if I win a trophy it will stay for a long time."

14.05Paire is on the cusp of victory against Ebden - leading 5-3 in the fourth with his service game to come.

14.04Also getting underway is the much anticipated match between Tsonga and Hewitt on Court Number One. The Frenchman will serve.

14.03Almagro and Rochus have resumed their suspended encounter. The score is currently locked at two games apiece in the fifth set.

14.02SET! Nieminen edges out Lopez for a second time on a tie-breaker to take a 2-1 lead in sets. The Finn ran out a 7-4 winner.

14.01GAME SET AND MATCH: A comfortable afternoon's work for Nishikori, who is through to the next round at the expense of Kukushkin. The Japanese number one emerged victorious 7-5 6-3 6-4.

14.00GAME SET AND MATCH: American Baker is through to round two thanks to a 7-6 6-4 6-0 win over Machado.

13.58It's almost Tsonga versus Hewitt time! Former champ Hewitt has had his injury problems but let's hope he can put on a show this afternoon.

13.57Back to Robson briefly and Tennis correspondent for The Times has told BBC Radio Five Live: "Disappointing for Laura having played so well in the first set, but she missed her chance in the second set. Schiavone came through very nervously - she just about merited her victory. Hopefully Laura will learn from that and come back next year with a much higher ranking. She's made progress this year."

13.56SET! My tip Goffin is doing me proud. Having lost the opening set, he now leads 2-1 against Tomic thanks to a 6-4 triumph in the third.

13.54Kvitova is already a break up in the second set against Amanmuradova. Could be over quickly this one!

13.53Tie-break alert! Lopez and Nieminen's third-set heads for a breaker.

13.51SET! Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova takes the first set against Sweden's Sofia Arvidsson 6-1.

13.50SET! Kvitova recovers to win the opening set against Amanmuradova 6-4.

13.49And we already have a match report up! Here it is. Enjoy.

13.49GAME SET AND MATCH: At the fifth time of asking Schiavone makes it! Unlucky for Robson, who for large parts of the encounter played very well.

13.47Just wide from Robson! Another match point for Schiavone...

13.47What a shot that is from Robson. What a way to save match point. An excellent forehand leaves Schiavone floundering. Deuce!

13.46Double fault! One match point remaining. Can Robson pull this off?

13.45Match point Schiavone as Robson hits long...

13.45Make that 30-15 courtesy of a double fault from Schiavone.

13.4430-0 Schiavone. Looking bleak for Robson.

13.42Cracking stuff from Robson, who has held her serve. The deficit is now one game, with Schiavone leading 5-4. The Italian will serve once again for the match.

13.41GAME SET AND MATCH: The battle of the names has ended! Ukraine's Dogopolov has defeated Bogomolov Jr 6-3 6-4 7-5.

13.40Meanwhile, over on court one Kvitova has restored parity against Amanmuradova. The score is now four games apiece in the opener.

13.39She's done it! Robson breaks to close the gap to 5-3. She needs to hold her serve, then break again.

13.38Make that 40-15 to Robson! Great shot down the line. She has to take this.

13.3730-15 to Robson on the Schiavone serve. Chance!

13.34Hold! Great stuff from Robson, who now trails 5-2 in the final set. Can she break Schiavone here? She needs to!

13.33...Once again Robson wins out though. Got to admire the young Brit's courage here.

13.33Second match point Schiavone...

13.32...But Robson saves it with a deep serve.

13.32Match point Schiavone...

13.31Back to Mahut quickly. You can read our report of his epic five-set victory here.

13.29SET! Great character from Ebden. The young Aussie wins the breaker against Paire 7-1 to send the match into a fourth set. How we about to witness a comeback?

13.27SET! Looking comfortable for the recently injury-plagued Mardy Fish, who is now two sets up on Ramirez Hidalgo courtesy of a 7-5 success.

13.26GAME SET AND MATCH: Mahut takes only a few minutes to finish of Lorenzi in a match restarted today in the fifth set. The French player won the final set 6-2.

13.25Robson is now 5-1 down and serving to stay in the match.

13.25Ebden and Paire have entered into a third-set tie-break. Ebden must win or he is out of Wimbledon for another year.

13.23That could be goodbye from Robson. She is broken for a second time in the final set by Schiavone, who is about to serve with a 4-1 advantage.

13.22One match that has gone the distance and spread over two days in fact is Mahut vs. Lorenzi. Frenchman Mahut is currently 5-2 up in the decider.

13.21SET! He lost the first set on a breaker, but Garcia-Lopez draws level against Roger-Vasselin thanks to a 6-3 triumph. Get the feeling this could go the distance.

13.20SET! It appears that Jaziri is not throwing in the towel against my new favourite player Zopp. Having lost the first two sets, Jaziri takes the third 6-3. Game on.

13.19SET! Zheng responds positively against Dubois to take the second set 6-4. This one is going the distance.

13.17SET! Looking good for Nishikori, who is now just one set away from victory after recording a 6-3 success over Kukushkin.

13.16Bit a shocking coming over on Centre Court perhaps? Defending champ Kvitova is broken at the first time of asking by Amanmuradova, who leads 2-0.

13.15SET! Beck wins the breaker 8-6 to level up his match with Levine at one set apiece.

13.13SET! Baker takes a 2-0 lead in terms of sets against Machado. The American won the second set 6-4.

13.12SET! Phew, Goffin has saved me some embarrassment by winning the second set against Tomic 6-3. The two players are now locked level at one set apiece.

13.10Schiavone holds to go 2-0 up on Robson in the final set.

13.09SET! Not Nishikori! In fact it is Lopez, who has levelled up his match against Nieminen at one set apiece courtesy of a 6-3 success.

13.07Nishikori is currently serving for a 2-0 lead in sets against Kukushkin.

13.05Incidentally, the score in that match is: Lorenzi 3-6 7-5 7-6[3] 5-7 Mahut

13.04Just to mark your card, Lorenzi vs. Mahut, which was suspended yesterday because of bad light, is back underway.

13.03Robson has been broken. She now trails 1-0 in the final set against Schiavone. This match only seems to be heading one way now.

13.03Shock, horror another tie-break! Beck and Levine are the two players who are locked at six games apiece.

13.02GAME SET AND MATCH: Aleksandra Wozniak advances through to round two at the expense of Vera Dushevina 6-2 7-5.

13.01Robson is 0-30 down her serve in the opening game. Schiavone is looking the more dominant player now.

13.00Meanwhile, defending champion Petra Kvitova is about to get her campaign underway on Centre Court against Akgul Amanmuradova.

12.58SET! A string of unforced errors in that game from Robson allows Schiavone to serve out 6-4 and level up the scores at one set apiece. Tough task ahead for the 18-year-old Brit now.

12.5740-15 to Schiavone as the set appears to be heading away from Robson.

12.56Make that 30-15 in Schiavone's favour. Big point coming up.

12.56Robson and Schiavone are currently locked at 15-15.

12.55I told you about Goffin didn't I?! I bet you all sniggered when he went one set down against Tomic! Well, the Belgian has responded to go 5-2 up in the second set. After that big speech I hope he holds on!

12.54And she does emphatically. Cannot ask for more from Robson. She has to break Schiavone now, otherwise this will be a three-set encounter.

12.52Schiavone holds her serve to go 5-3 in front. Robson must now do the same or this one is going the distance.

12.52SET! The wonderfully named Zopp claims a 6-4 success over Jaziri to go two sets up at SW19.

12.49SET! And just as I write that, the Ukrainian serves out to win the second set against Bogo 6-4.

12.48Lopez has broken Nieminen to go 2-0 up the second set, while Dolgopolov is currently serving to open up a two-set advantage over Bogomolov Jr.

12.46...which she takes! Oh dear Laura Robson. She now trails 4-3 in the second set, with Schiavone preparing to serve. It could have been so different though - that's what Robson is bound to be thinking.

12.45Break point Schiavone...

12.44SET! Aussie Tomic claims the opening set against Goffin 6-3.

12.43SET! Roger-Vasselin holds his nerve to win his opening set breaker against Garcia-Lopez 7-2.

12.42She might you know! Schiavone fights back from 0-40 down on her own serve to level up proceedings in the second set at 3-3. Robson missed a number of changes there.

12.41...But she fires wide and Schiavone gets the game back to deuce. Will Robson regret those missed opportunities?

12.40One remaining...

12.39Two break points Robson...

12.38Just for good measure Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin reach an opening set tie-break. I've never seen so many in such a short space of time!

12.37Quick check on Robson, who is leading Schiavone 3-2 on serve in the second set.

12.35SET! In yet another opening set tie-breaker, Baker wins through 7-2 against Machado.

12.35SET! Could be a very early exit for Aussie Ebden, who has lost the second set 6-3 to Paire. Ebden must now take the match the distance to advance through to round two.

12.33SET! Nieminen comes out on top of his breaker against Spain's Lopez 7-4.

12.32SET! Fish wins the breaker against Ramirez Hidalgo 7-3.

12.30GAME SET AND MATCH: The first winner of the day is Bertens, who has knocked out number 19 seed Safarova 6-3 6-0. Bit of a shock from the women's game I have to say.

12.28Tie-breaks all over the place at the moment! Lopez and Nieminen enter one, as do Baker and Machado.

12.27Schiavone, who seems to be moving a bit more freely, holds her opening service game of the second set to draw level at one game apiece with Robson.

12.26SET! Stephanie Dubois takes the opening set against China's Jie Zheng 6-4.

12.25Fish and Ramirez Hidalgo enter into an opening set tie-breaker. Whose going to hold their nerve?

12.24SET! Nishkori battles back from a break down to take the first set against Kukushkin 7-5. Impressive recovery from the Japanese number one.

12.23Back to Robson, who continues where she left off by serving out to take a 1-0 lead in the second set.

12.22Mardy Fish currently leads Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo 6-5, with the latter now serving to stay in the set.

12.20Phew, that was a busy couple of minutes! Meanwhile, Schiavone has returned from her medical time out to start the second set against Robson.

12.19SET! Aleksandra Wozniak goes one set up on Vera Dushevina thanks to a 6-2 success.

12.17SET! Jesse Levine claims the opening set 6-4 against Karol Beck.

12.16SET! In the battle of the great names Dolgopolov has won the opening set 6-3 against Bogomolov Jr.

12.15SET! Estonia's Jurgen Zopp takes the first set against Malek Jaziri 6-4.

12.14This doesn't look good for Schiavone. She is being taken off court for further treatment. How will this stoppage effect Robson's game?

12.13Robson's opponent Schiavone has called for the trainer. The Italian appears to be suffering with a back complaint.

12.12SET! Lucie Safarova loses the opening set to Kiki Bertens 6-3.

12.11Score Update: Tomic 4-2 Goffin, Lopez 3-4 Nieminen, Nishikori 4-4 Kukushkin (all opening set)

12.09SET! Very impressive from Robson, who claims the set 6-2 against Schiavone. 'Robbo' has looked extremely powerful in that opening set against a former Grand Slam winner.

12.07Set point to Robson...

12.05SET! Well that was quick! No messing around Paire, who claims the opening set against Ebden 6-1 in double quick time. What sort of reaction with the Australian produce? For his sake let's hope that it is a positive one.

12.03Robson comes from 30-0 down on her serve to take a 5-2 lead. Her Italian opponent is now serving to stay in the set.

12.02It has also come to my attention that Alexandr Dolgopolov is taking on Alex Bogomolov Jr. Couple of decent names there! The score is currently 3-2 in the latter's favour, going with serve.

12.00Remember I bigged up Goffin earlier? Well the Belgian has been broken by Tomic! The Aussie leads 3-0 and is currently serving. Seems that I have cursed Goffin!

11.58Back to Robson, who has held her serve for a 4-1 lead. Looking good for the 18-year-old.

11.57Lopez and Nieminen have just got underway, with the Spaniard leading 2-1 on serve.

11.56Paire is now well in control against Ebden in the opening set. The Frenchman is serving with a 4-1 lead.

11.54...which see takes! Great start from the young Brit. She is now serving against Schiavone with a 3-1 lead in the opening set.

11.53Break point Robson...

11.52One match that has just got underway that does intrigue me (strangely maybe) is Australia's Bernard Tomic vs. David Goffin. The young Belgian recently took a set of Roger Federer at the French Open.

11.49Nishkori has also been broken by Kukushkin, who is now serving with a 2-1 lead. Nishikori broke onto the scene last year on the hard courts. Remains to be seen if he can cut it on grass.

11.47Bad start for Aussie Ebden, who has been broken by Paire at the first time of asking. The Frenchman leads 2-0 in the opening set.

11.45Britain's Laura Robson is also underway on court number three against Francesca Schiavone. She received a warm welcome from the home crowd. Can they inspire her against the world number 26?

11.43Australian youngster Matthew Ebden has also started his match against 23-year-old Benoit Paire.

11.42The matches mentioned earlier involving Fish and Nishkori have also begun. It's all happening!

11.41At last day two is underway! Rui Machado vs. Bob Baker and Lucie Safarova vs. Kiki Bertens get us off and running!

11.38Good ol' Sue Barker is just discussing on the BBC whether it should be called 'Murray Mount' or 'Henman Hill'. Always the latter for me! Come on Tim!

11.34Of course there are many more matches going on and SM intend to have it ALL covered. No pressure!

11.33So what's up first then? Well within the next ten minutes or so I'll be keeping you abreast of Britain's Laura Robson vs. Francesca Schiavone, Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo vs. Mardy Fish, Kei Nishikori vs. Mikhail Kukushkin and Feliciano Lopez vs. Jarkko Nieminen.

11.28Caroline Wozniacki, Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka and Britain's very own Elena Baltacha are all also due to feature over the course of the day. Reeling off all these names makes you realise just how good today's action is going to be!

11.26In the women's side of the draw defending champion Petra Kvitova begins her campaign around 1pm against Akgul Amanmuradova - It's going to fun typing that name all afternoon!

11.24Having finished my best Michael Fish impression, back to the tennis!

11.23Now after all that positivity, here comes some negativity! The Met Office has revealed that there is a 70% chance of rain this afternoon. That won't bother those on Centre Court though, who will be nicely tucked under a roof.

11.21Another encounter which is worth looking out for is Robin Haase against Juan Martin Del Potro. Have to confess that Del Potro is one of my favourite players. His 2009 US Open final victory over Roger Federer is one of the finest matches I have seen in recent times. The Argentine could go far at Wimbledon this year.

11.19One match that catches the eye is Tsonga vs. Leyton Hewitt. Aussie Hewitt may not be the force he once was, but grass is his favourite surface and he could give Tsonga a scare today.

11.16As it stands, Mahut is locked at 3-6 7-5 7-6[3] 5-7 with Lorenzi, while Almagro is all-square [4]6-7 3-6 7-6[4] 6-2 with Rochus. Couple of interesting final sets coming up!

11.15There's actually a couple of matches that failed to beat the light yesterday evening. Nicolas Mahut vs. Paolo Lorenzi and Nicolas Almagro vs. Olivier Rochus will return today to conclude their encounters.

11.10Incidentally, you can find out what time your favourite players will be on court by checking out our Order of Play for Day Two.

11.09Today isn't all about Murray though, far from it! The likes of Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams will be gracing the turf of some stage.

11.08Of course Mr Davydenko may have something to say about that. Don't know much about the Russian? Well our very own Jack Prescott has produced this useful profile of him.

11.04Perhaps Murray will take inspiration from some of the British players who began their campaign yesterday. Heather Watson became the first British woman to win on Centre Court in 27 years, while 18-year-old Oliver Golding put up a brave fight against former top-20 player Igor Andreev.

11.00Morning all! So, the main focus from a British point of view will be on Andy Murray this afternoon. The Scot takes on Nikolay Davydenko at around 5pm this evening. Can 'Muzza' win his first Grand Slam on home soil this year?
